DPA - Direct Polytechnic Admission

-Who can apply for DPA?

All final-year secondary students in the Express and Normal Academic courses may apply for a place in the polytechnic under the DPA exercise.

How do I apply?

Students apply for DPA via an online application system at http://www.polytechnic.edu.sg/dpa/

Applications open from 11 July to 16 July 2007. Check out the summary schedule of the DPA here.

Please read the selection and eligibility criteria before you apply.

-Am I eligible to apply?

To ensure that students are able to cope with the rigours of a polytechnic education, students selected for the DPA will still need to sit for the ‘O' Level examinations and obtain the following:

obtain a net ELR2B2 score of not more than 26 points for the GCE ‘O’ level examinations
(ELR2B2 is used for admission into the Polytechnics. It refers to English Language, 2 relevant subjects for the polytechnic course applied for, and 2 other best subjects which could be elective subjects.)

-How are candidates selected?

Students will be selected based on a basket of criteria, which include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

evidence of ability, talent, interests and intent for a poly education
portfolio of achievements, awards and work samples related to the course applied for
testimonials and recommendations
school results which meet the minimum entry requirements (MER) for the course applied for.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend an interview and/ or sit for a test.
